1. Preface
Data collection, processing and use in regard to personal data are effected by the Artcover GmbH (hereinafter Artcover) solely on the basis of the consent given by the user or a legal authorisation or obligation. In the event that anonymous or pseudonymised data is sufficient for the business purpose, only this form of data will be resorted to. Artcover has extensive technical and internal security measures for the protection of personal data. Furthermore, our security system is routinely inspected and adapted to technological progress. Artcover uses a secure transmission system the so-called SSL transmission (Secure Socket Layer) to process user data.

2. Use of the Artcover website
2.1. Artcover collects and uses users’ personal data as far as this is required for the justification, definition as regards content or amendment of a contractual relationship with the user regarding the usage of telecommunications media on the basis of legal duties or authorisation and on the basis of the consent given by the user.
2.2. Artcover collects and uses users’ personal data as far as this is required to enable or bill the usage of the Artcover website as well as in other legally permissible cases and based on the consent given by the user.
2.3. Artcover collects and uses data in log files, which the user’s Internet browser transmits to us. These are: type and version of the browser, applied system software, referrer URL (previously visited page), host name of the accessing computer (IP address), time of the server enquiry. This data is not assignable to specific persons and necessary to present the content of the Artcover website to the user and to ensure secure communication. A consolidation of this data with other data sources does not take place; furthermore, the data is deleted after a statistical evaluation.

3.  Application of Cookies
3.1. In conjunction with the provision of the website, Artcover uses so-called “Cookies”. “Cookies” are text files, which are stored on the user’s computer when visiting a website. “Cookies” are used once resp. for a longer period of time in order to make permanent, recurring settings available to the user on the Artcover website or to enable certain functions of the Artcover website. The text files do not contain any address data (such as name or email address of the user) or other personal data and are not linked to other data sources by Artcover.
3.2. The “Cookies” also serve the analysis of the use of the website and therefore enable us to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure.
3.3. User profiles can be created using pseudonyms for purposes of advertising, market research or for the need-based design of the Artcover website, provided that the user does not object to this. Users can object at any time by deactivating this function in their Artcover user account or via email to Artcover info@art-cover.eu.
In no case are the user profiles consolidated with the data regarding the bearer of the pseudonym.

4. Deactivation of Cookies
Website users can set their web browser to disable the storage of „Cookies”. In individual cases however, this can result in no longer being able to use personal online offers/services or certain functions of the website.

5. Orders and memberships at Artcover
5.1. Artcover collects, stores, alters, uses and transmits personal data for its own purposes for the justification and processing of an agreement concluded with the user or a quasi contract including individual and personal customer advisory service and support as well as for ensuring the own justifiable business interests of Artcover. As far as it is required, Artcover also transmits personal data to third parties, e.g. deliverers. Data which is transmitted for these purposes may only be used by the recipient for the fulfilment of his/her assignment.
5.2. By accepting this privacy policy, the user accepts that Artcover uses personal data for its own purposes of advertising or market or opinion research and third party transmission. The user can revoke his/her approval of the use of his/her personal data at any time via email to info@art-cover.eu.
5.3. In each case, the use of personal data for other purposes is dependent on the consent of the user.

6. Right to information
Visitors and users of the Artcover website can receive information from Artcover at any time and free of charge regarding their personal stored data and its origin, the recipients of their data as well as the purpose of the storage.
